YWHAH/A0633

YWHAH, also known as A0633, is an adapter protein that plays a role in the regulation of many signaling pathways.

YWHAH, also known as A0633, is an adapter protein that plays a role in the regulation of many signaling pathways. YHWAH is expressed mainly in the brain, but it is also expressed to a lesser degree in other tissues. This protein is structurally observed to be a homodimer, and exists in several distinct forms: gamma, epsilon, zeta, theta, sigma and eta. YWHAH helps regulate signal transduction by binding to phosphoserine-containing proteins such as nuclear hormone receptors and cofactors, which then results in the modulation of the activity of the binding partner.
