Ras-related protein Ral-A (RALA, also known as A0203) is encoded by a gene on chromosome 13. It belongs to the G protein family of proteins, and is found in the post-synaptic density (PSD), post-synaptic proteome and N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor complex synaptic proteomes. There is limited information about the role of this protein. RALA has been implicated in filopodial outgrowth in response to cytokine signaling, pointing to a possible role in axonal development, neuron connectivity and long-term potentiation (LTP).
