SRC kinase substrate cortactin, also known as CTTN or A0083, is implicated in some types of breast cancer and in carcinomas of the head and neck. The SH3 domain region of cortactin interacts with the cytoskeleton and its SH2 domain binds to SHANK2 and SHANK3. This protein may have a role in organizing cell structure, cellular growth and transformation. It is ubiquitously expressed, including in nerve tissues. No mouse knock-out has been reported.
