Prefrontal Cortex - Executive Functions

Professor Trevor Robbins explains that the prefrontal cortex is involved in executive functions such as planning and decision-making.

Some people would say the major functions are executive. Executive processes are that set of control processes that serve to optimize performance in complex cognitive tasks with many components. That is not all the frontal cortex does. Executive processes are also done by other structures, but the prefrontal cortex is central to that group of functions.
